Cheers To The Teenage Years #5

Yo my dudes,

Welcome back!

This is the long awaited return of CTTTYs!

I’m so sorry that I’ve been away for such a long time but I’ve been SUPER busy and I didn’t want to make a rushed post for you guys so I thought I would take some time out of my day today to write you guys a nice long one. Who knows? I MAY even spell check this one – no promises though.

Anyway, I have a MASSIVE list of topics I wanna cover so you guys will be seeing a tonne of these posts (when I write them that is) so I hope you guys are excited. – did you miss me?

So, after thinking through all of the possible topics that I wanted to share with you guys, I decided to pluck up enough courage and go with

*drumroll please*

Sneaking Out

Alright, we’ve all done it…well, hopefully (I really hope I’m not the only one – rebel Alex activated). And I honestly think it’s one of the funniest things to endure as a teenager. The stigma of it is just thrilling. Think about it –

1A.M. Sneaking out the front door or put of your bedroom window, trying your hardest not to make a sound and wake up your parents. Finally escaping and feeling the cold night air on your back…

Cool right?

Today, I’m gonna give you some of my my favourite stories of when I snuck out (good AND bad) and give you all some pointers in case you wanna give it a go yourselves – lemme know how it goes!…unless it ends badly – then I had no part in this.

Let’s get into the post –

Okay, so as thrilling as the night that I snuck out with Nadia was, that actually wasn’t my favourite time – although it was pretty hectic and you HAVE to check it out if you haven’t already (I’ll leave a link here).

(Good)

The best times that I sneak out are always the times when I just go out by myself, go to the park and sit there. Idk, sometimes, it’s just remedy for a bad day or in my case, bad LIFE. Seeing how big the world is makes you realise how small your problems are and that’s kind of a comforting thought to have.

(Bad)

Okay, so this one was like the day after I snuck out with Nadia and surprise surprise – it involves Nadia again. But this time, SHE was the one who snuck out to see me at my house. So she came at like 1 in the morning and we were watching an anime that she wanted me to get into. When it got to like 5 in the morning, she had to go before her parents woke up so I decided to walk her to the bus stop, which btw was only like FIVE MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE.

So I unlocked and closed my gate quietly (or so I thought), walked her to the bus stop, waited for her bus to come, said goodbye and walked back to my house. In total, I must have been gone for about 15 minutes but as soon as I opened the door to my house, my mother and my brother are standing there, her phone is in her hand and she’s called the police…WHAT?

Apparently my brother, being the little snitch that he is told my mother that he’d heard me going out with a BOY and saw SMOKE coming out of my room. OKAY. BIGGEST LIAR OF THE CENTURY MUCH??? I mean, I’m pretty sure Nadia is a girl, PLUS we didn’t even smoke so I don’t know WHAT he was talking about but of course my mother believed him as she always does and I was the one who got punished. Not to mention that the police got involved. THAT was a hard one to get out of I’ll tell you for sure.

Anyway, after THAT, I’ve only snuck out a few times cause I didn’t want to risk getting caught.

Talking about being caught, let’s go into the next segment of this post and I’ll finally give you some tips on how to successfully sneak out with ease.

Alex’s Sneak Out Tips

  1. Don’t put your shoes on till you’re at your door/window (for minimal noise)
  2. Put phone on silent till you’re out
  3. Take key off of keychain so they don’t clash together and make noise
  4. If door is creaky, put some sort of oil or grease on it the night before
  5. Make sure you are in a place where no annoying neighbours (or siblings) can see you
  6. Leave the door unlocked and take a spare key just in case
  7. Think of a possible alibi if you get caught (went out for fresh air DOES NOT work…trust me)
  8. Wake up normal time so family doesn’t get suspicious.

And finally…good luck my young apprentice

Anywayyyy that’s it for this blog post! Have you guys got any cool sneaking out stories – lemme know down below!!

I hope you all enjoyed this comeback to CTTTYs and I’ll see you soon in my next blog post

Love,

Alex – The Awkward Expert🌺♥

Woww rebel Alex in the house. Or should I say out of the house? See what I did there? Yeah I need to stop. 😂 I sound like a grandma once again but I don’t really see the point in sneaking out. Just go during the day or ask for permission, it’s the same thing. 😂 I guess it just sounds mischevious but who knows what might happen to you at 1 am on the streets. Or at least leave a note, you know? I’m probably just overreacting but damnn Alexa, those are some pretty good tips. 😂

Don’t stop – your grandma jokes are what make you you😂 I think people sneak out because they can’t exactly do the stuff during the day😂 like most parties are at night – or at least where I’m from. and you can’t exactly get peace and quiet when everyone is outside can you?
