My ComicCon Experience

Hey Guys!!

So this was meant to go up a while ago but you guys know the whole deal with my shitty internet (yeah..I’m kinda just going through my drafts and realising I never posted this..I’m an idiot – comic con was around the end of October…sorry).

If you guys didn’t know, I went to Comic Con a few weeks ago (okay, a few MONTHS ago) so I am gonna tell you EVERYTHING that went down from start to finish. I hope you’re ready because this is gonna be a long one. Get a superhero themed snack (if it’s not DC and it’s Marvel (lol, I get SO much hate for this) then just exit now) and let’s get started!

Okay so I woke up early that morning to decide what I was going to wear and after about an hour of trying on different options (I’m not brave enough to go in cosplay lol) I decided to go with my black XO top (The Weeknd for life), some black leggings underneath some shorts with my blue bandana (you’ve been hearing a lot about that lately haven’t you) and my black nike shoes – yes, I looked like I was going to a weird funeral but I really liked it and it made me feel comfortable so I went for it!

So I texted Hallie and told her that I was on my way to hers, and she told me that she was getting ready. Now, even though I’m a girl, I’m not very fluent in “girl talk” so I’m guessing that when she told me she was getting ready, she had just woken up because by the time I got the her house, she was still in her Pyjamas – girls huh? can’t live with em, can’t live without em (wow I really don’t know why I’m going off on such tangent – alright whatever, back to the post)

So once she FINALLY got dressed, her mum drove us to comic con. We got their kinda early so we decided to walk around for a little bit and take a few pictures. Then we decided to go and queue up to go and get our wristbands. Yeah…it wasn’t the best idea to walk around beforehand. By the time we had gotten back, the line was so fucking long it went around the corner…we did NOT think that one through.

So when we got out wristbands and went through, there was ANOTHER waiting section before they let us in. Then two of the workers decided it would be fun to play a game with everyone.

If we screamed loud enough, they would let us in early.

Now, I’m not a very vocal person (okay who am I kidding with that one?) but everyone else was enthusiastic enough to scream louder than a wailing cat lady and therefore, we were allowed to enter early.

As soon as I got in, it was like entering a fucking adventure land. I mean just look –

Legend of Zelda AND Minions?? It was sure to be a great day.

The first thing that Hallie and I wanted to do before we blew all of our money, was buy stationary. There was this really cool stall that sold tonnes of stuff so we went and checked it out –

I need up buying a keyring, a squared notepad/book kinda thing and TONNES of pens so that was a great time for me.

We walked around a little more and saw tonnes of people I cosplay. Because Hallie and I are just so socially awkward, it took a combined effort to go up to people and ask them if I could get pictures, you guys better appreciate them because I struggled A LOT to get them –

They all look so fucking cool right??? This isn’t even HALF of the pictures that I took and I already love all of them. Shouts out to these amazing people for letting me photograph them!!

Then I got the part that made me HAPPYYYY.

MERCH!!

I was SWIMMING in it. There where so many options and so many anime and tv shows and urghhh could anything BE anymore amazing??

In the end, I opted for buying a DragonBallZ TV and I’m actually wearing it right now and it’s probably one of the best purchases that I’ve ever made.

A few other honourable mentions of things that I bought are

  • “I solemnly swear I’m up to no good” necklace
  • “Mischief Managed” Necklace
  • Birthstone (leo) necklace (I like necklaces okay?)
  • Metal Bookmark
  • And TONNES of badges (I put them ALL over my bags)

I think that’s it – remember, this was 6 months ago, I’m surprised I even remembered tis much already. Anyway, back to the story.

Even outside was EPIC. So many stalls and people sat on the grass just enjoying life and taking pictures with people dressed up in cosplay. It was all just so much fun

I just loved the whole thing and I would 100% 10/10 do it ALL over again

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post!

Have any of you guys been to comic con? How was it for you?

I’ll see you all in my next blog post!

Love,

Alex – The Awkward Expert🌺♥
