The ‘Camila’ Album

Hey Guys,

So if you are new to this blog, you probably think this is just another regular blog post. However if you’ve been here for a while (yo, what’s up dudes?) you’d know that I’ve never done an album review before and to be honest, I wasn’t even planning to.

But Camila Cabello’s new album ‘Camila’ came out a few days ago (yeah…I started writing  this blog post like a month ago so…) and I honestly love it to pieces. It’s such a great representation of her on her own and really showcases HER feelings and now I know the reason why she left 5th Harmony.

Now I wasn’t the biggest fan of 5th Harmony. To be honest I really thought their music got kinda repetitive after a while and every new album was just a recycled version of the last. Which is why I had a lot of faith in Camila when she decided to leave.

I wanted to see what she could achieve on her own because I could see that she kinda looked out of place in 5th Harmony..I don’t know how to describe it but do you see what I mean?

Anyway, I am so proud of this album and all of the records that she’s already broken only at the age of 20? That’s so dope.

So now I wanna go through some of my fave songs on the album and explain why I like them! Let’s go –

1. Never Be the Same

Okay so I LOVE this song. It’s pure gold and I’m listening to it as I’m writing this right now. I mean I’m pretty sure it’s about her being addicted to a guy and how he’s changed her life. I mean, I can’t really relate but there was a time when little of Alex had a crush. Yes, yes I am human. And yes, yes, the guy was super cute but I don’t know, this song kind of reminded me of him a little so..yeah.

2. All These Years

I think this one is about her running into somebody she used to love and reminiscing the time that she shared with them and about how much she still missed him after “all theses years”. Now a couple of weeks ago I ran into a few friends from Primary school and it was so amazing to just talk about what we’ve been up to after all this time. It’s crazy that it’s almost ben five years since I used to see them every single day but it’s nice to catch up. I know it’s not exactly the same but I really like the song.

3. Consequences

I think this is my favourite one of them all – I love this song with a passion and even thigh I can’t relate, it doesn’t take away from the fact that it is purely breathtaking. It brings back all the feels that I never even had – I mean is that even possible? It’s just so beautiful and I can’t stop listening to it over and over again.

4. Real Friends

Now THIS one, I can relate to. I don’t know of you guys remember what happened with Roxy but I first heard this song around the time it started and it practically became my fucking anthem. Check it out if you haven’t already but it’s so amazing. I feel like I have some “real friends” now, but that doesn’t mean that this song still isn’t a bop.

5. I Have Questions

Now this one isn’t on the album but it is fucking amazing and deserves WAYY more recognition. It’s lyrically amazing and the words just convey such a deep meaning that more people should notice. I love love LOVE this one.

Okay so I know this is nothing like my regular posts but I thought why not just share some great music that I’ve been listening to with you? You guys better get ready for my Monthly Playlist Series which is gonna be starting soon – yes, it’s gonna be fucking amazing – get ready for some great taste in music.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I’ll see you again soon with another one!

Love,

Alex🌺♥

This album really surprised me! The piano ballads are great and lyrically well-written. Real Friends is also a song that I loooove to listen to, over and over again. I haven’t heard I Have Questions, though. Is that a bonus track?

I love this album. When she left 5th Harmony everybody knew she was going to do great things. Especially her collab with MGK. I think 5th harmony was just holding her back and you’re right, she didn’t fit in. They kinda made her seem like the outcast. Great post!
