Cheers To The Teenage Years #4

Hey Guys!

Welcome back again to the best series you’ll ever read…lol I’m so funny right(!). Anyway, welcome back to CTTTYs! I really hope you guys are liking the series because for me, it’s really fun to write, because

  1. I’m a teen
  2. I have sooo many stories to tell

Okay so after spending ages deciding which of my MANY embarrassing stories I have that you guys could relate to, I think that the topic for this week is going to be…

We ALL get jealous – sometimes over the tiniest things. it’s annoying but it’s true and sometimes, there is nothing we can do about it. Today I’m gonna tell you guys, some of the things that people get MOST jealous about (Based on the survey that I conducted in school a couple of months ago). Then I’m gonna tell you what I get jealous about and then finish with an embarrassing story because who doesn’t love those? Lets get into it

Okay so a few months ago, I decided to conduct a survey (using ‘sociology homework’ as a disguise)to find out what people get jealous of the most. The answers (well at least at my school) are as follows-

What 15 and 16 Year Old People Get Jealous of (in my school)- 2017 EDITION

  1. Girls Body Image
  2. Girls Looks
  3. Peoples Intelligence
  4. Girls Boyfriends
  5. Boys Girlfriends
  6. Other people Friends
  7. Other Peoples Material Items
  8. Peoples Grades
  9. Boys Body Image
  10. Boys Looks

Okay so this is the top 10 things that I managed to get from people. It’s surprising how open people are when you just ask them. Although I wouldn’t advise this if you are not very good with being sociable. It was such a STRUGGLE to build up the courage to ask people.

So now I’m gonna tell you guys some of the things I I get jealous of, some of them are actually the same as the ones above, but I’m gonna explain them in a little more detail.

1. Families –

Okay so as some of you guys know, I don’t have the best family situation. I don’t know, I just wish that I could just be like those families you always see, going soon trips and stuff, talking about our day over dinner. Just a regular family that is ACTUALLY interested in each others lives. Is it just me, or does anyone want those mothers you see in the movies, who have such a great relationship with their kids? I just wanna feel like I can talk to them, and it doesn’t help that I live NEXT DOOR to a perfect family…

2. Friends –

Okay, so this is one that was above, but I wanted to explain why I am jealous. So at my school, there are a lot of fake friendships and friendships you KNOW aren’t gonna work out outside of school. But every now and then, you see a really tight knit group of people who’s friendship is just so dedicated and close and just…you know that they can trust each other with everything. Don’t get me wrong, my friends are awesome, but I’ve had some pretty shitty stuff happen to me in the past so I find it very hard to trust and I think it’s because of that, that I don’t really have a lot of friends. I only like a very select group of people and that’s because I’m scared of getting hurt. I just wish I never had to worry and had a group of friends I could trust from the beginning. That’s why I’m a little salty on that front.

3. Looks –

Now, I don’t hate the way I look, but everyone has insecurities right? Sometimes I just look at somebody and be like “I wish my skin was that clear” or “I wish I had those legs” or SOMETHING you wish you had. Plus with all of the new trends and stuff that are constantly changing and leaving people out of the loop (I talk a little more about this here) it’s even harder to be comfortable with yourself because what’s “lovable” changes like every week.

4. People Skills –

So as you know, I’m the most awkward person to ever exist. Sometimes I just wish that I could be less awkward. Especially when I meet new people because of first impressions and all that crap. I just kinda wish I was less uncomfortable and tried harder to make more connections and friends. I see people meeting new people and they click INSTANTLY. Me on the other hand….it’s just a string of awkward silences. Maybe it’s just something I can learn to get better with, but for now…I guess I’ll try and embrace the silence.

Okay so now I wanna tell you guys about something that happened today.

So we last week, we had a science exam and today we got the results…Guys…I did SO BAD. Like it was terrible. So me being the nosy, jealous little frog that I am, I decided to go around the class and look at everyones results. It turns out that a lot of the class didn’t do that well, but then I got to a girl who did REALLY well and…well… this is when I decided to be a petty bitch. Since she had shown me what she got, she wanted to know what I got, and I walked back to my seat SO FAST. I was so jealous that I honestly wanted nobody to find out. I mean, it’s the first test of the year and it wasn’t just me who did badly so I had NO IDEA why I was so sad.

Honestly guys, you should have seen me today. For the rest of the lesson I was just staring at my exam paper, feeling sad and then thinking about her hight level and then getting jealous again…I’m a douche.

Anyway, at the end of the day, we are all gonna be jealous about one thing or another, and we can’t control that. But we CAN control how we handle it, and try our best not to let it get to us.

urgh who am I kidding…I’m gonna stay petty…I am a teen after all

That’s gonna be it for this blog post! I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll se you again soon with another one!
