My Dubai Travel Log (Part 1)

Hey Guys!

So yesterday was my first full day in Dubai and I’m sorry I didn’t update you guys last night, I got home real late and I wanted to post the award I was tagged in before I started with my travel experience. But anyway, today I’m going to give you a complete run down of my time here so far, and it’s been pretty hectic if I do say so myself. Lets goo!

So we arrived in Dubai at around 8 am on Friday, but it took a really long time to get everything sorted out and get luggage and just the boring stuff like that.

Once I stepped out of that airport, I was LITERALLY BOILING. Like it was actually insane. I mean, I knew it was going to be hot, but that was actually just on another level. We got into a cab as quick as we could and thankfully the air con was on, so that kind of saved me. Only just.

So it was about a half an hour drive to the hotel. Once we got in we were engulfed with nice cold fresh air and honestly, it was like I had just stepped into heaven. We got there about 2 hours early, so we checked in and had to wait in reception.

About an hour into waiting, a guy who worked there asked us if we would like to upgrade our room for free, because we came so early and they had the room free for the time we were staying there. My mother said no straight away and in my head, I was like “WHAT???” My mother is very… how should I put this…OBLIVIOUS of things. I don’t think she understood what the guy was saying. So I explained it to her in a way that I was sure she would understand and after about 10 minutes she finally got it and accepted the offer.

The guy escorted us to the room and once he opened the door, I realised that it wasn’t just a room.. IT WAS A FREAKING APARTMENT. Like I’m talking kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms ALL IN SEPARATE ROOMS! It was such a massive upgrade and I think the guy knew how shocked we were just by looking at our faces.

This is what it somewhat looks like –

It’s good right? Anyway, I went to bed straight after taking these pics because I was wiped out and just couldn’t sleep on the plane. So I woke up really late when I actually SHOULD have been sleeping so my sleeping schedule was not the best, so to speak. That was pretty much it for Friday, now onto Saturday, when it got interesting.

So because my schedule was messed up, I woke up at like 12 in the afternoon to find out that my mother had been to the spa without me soo….thanks dude. She told me that she had something special planned for just us two and told me to get ready since we would be leaving at 3.

So I got ready, and 3 o’clock rolls around and outside of the apartment building, is a cab and he takes us to one of the most amazing places that I have ever seen.

It was essentially like a little village I think? I’m still not 100% positive but it had lots of little shops and activities and animals like this adorable camel which I legit fell in love with, because how could you not? This is not even 10% of the pictures I took of this place, but I’m thinking of doing a scrapbook filled with pictures at the end of my holiday. Would that be something you guys want? Lemme know.

Anyway, we got to chill and hang out there for a bit, I bought a few souvenirs and we went to this cute little food shop and got something to eat. Well my mother did. I wasn’t that hungry so I got a drink.

She then told me that she had something else planned, we got into this massive jeep and then she told me that we would be going ion a desert safari. I couldn’t take as many pictures of this because my mother had also planned something called Dune Bashing. Now if you don’t know what dune bashing is, it’s basically getting thrown around in a car going up and down mountains of sand😂. Umm.. I don’t reccommend it for the easily scared… or in general for that matter. I was sooo scared and I’m pretty sure that I hit my head a couple of times. I can’t tell you how hard I gripped onto my seat belt, but lets just say that my nails left indents in it.

After about 20 minutes of being thrown around in a car, we stopped on top of a hill of sand, so I took this opportunity to take some more pictures – enjoy!

After spending about an hour exploring, it was starting to get dark but my mother said that she had one more surprise. We got back in the jeep and drove the car of pain off the the mountain and drove to possibly the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

It was like a night club in the middle of the desert. At first I was bit nervous because I thought it was gonna be really loud and there would be people everywhere. And it was, but everyone was so happy and having a good time with their friends and it was such a great atmosphere. There were lots of different entertainment like belly dancing and fire breathers. Here’s some pics that I took! These are some of my favourites.

It was honestly so much fun experiencing all of the different culture that was around me and seeing how different people act in different situations and getting to try lots of different foods. I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere and hope that I get to experience it again soon!

So that’s about it that happened yesterday. Today is kind of a lazy day because my poor head is still recovering from the dune bashing (if you do it PLEASE WEAR HEADGEAR!). When we got back I went straight to sleep in perhaps the most comfortable bed EVER so that’s a plus.

Anyway, that’s all I have for you guys in todays post. I hope you guys like it and lemme know what you thought of my pictures. This has been a really long post, so lemme know if you prefer shorter ones so that I know to break it down into smaller parts for you guys.

Have a great day and I’ll see you in my next blog post!

Love,

The Awkward Expert♥

😂😂😂😂😂 I never tried Dune Bashing lol. Same girl I went to visit Dubai from Canada in like the middle of August and I honestly felt like I was inside an oven. I’m pretty sure you can cook in that as well.

I saw a documentary ages ago (Legit, I was 6 years old, I’m 22 now) about Dubai, and I fell for the city back then. I can’t visit one day! Your picture made me want to take a plane now! Would you mind check out my page? I’d mean the world to me! Maybe we can follow each other? 😀

Been to the UAE in December and this post made me so nostalgic😭. Dune bashing was legit my fave part of the whole trip! I’m an adrenaline junkie so I absolutely loved it. Please do the scrapbook, would love to see more of your pics! And I like that your post is long. I hate to be someone who self-promotes, especially on someone else’s blog🙈 but if you like, please check out my first post, it’s an overall of my UAE experience. I think you’d like it. xx
