In this blog post, I’m doing something a little different. Instead of telling you all about MY bad days, I’m going to be giving all of you guys some tips on how to overcome any bad thoughts you may have related to it. Not only will it get your mind of it, it will free up your time for you to do something productive! Lets get into the blog post!
HOW TO GET OVER A BAD DAY
STEP 1 – Finding your Utopia:
The first step in getting over your bad day is to find the place where you are most at peace. It could be a particular spot in a park or your bedroom. Just go to the place where you know that you can really take your mind off things and not be distracted by anything. Make sure it is quiet and preferably isolated.
STEP 2 – Acknowledge the Issue:
When you are in your comfort zone, think about what is causing your day to be bad. Really think. And then decide “is this going to matter tomorrow? or next week? or even next month?” Most of the time, the answer is no. Put things into perspective and then evaluate if it is really going to have a big effect on the rest of your life.
STEP 3 – Download an App:
There are many different apps out there that are specifically devoted to helping people find peace and figure out your problems.
My favourites are:
- ReachOut WorryTime – This app lets you write down what exactly is the wrong and when you fix it, you can flick it away. I like it because it is basically like a journal to help you keep track.
- Headspace – This app lets you go through guided meditations , all of different types and there are sessions to go through where you just relax your mind. You can listen to a session anytime you are having a bad day.
- Pacifia – This app helps you track down your daily activities by writing or by audio to help you understand what activities may be triggering different emotions and make you recognise them so that you can break the chain.
STEP 4 – Do Something Creative:
Do something that makes you feel happy. For me it is Spray Painting. I have a whole wall dedicated to when I’m feeling down where I can just go crazy and spray paint to my hearts content. Do something that you enjoy doing, whether it is sleeping or going for a walk, just do it and I guarantee that you will feel better now that you’ve done something that you love.
STEP 5 – EAT!:
Eat! Eat whatever you wanna eat! This is more of an optional step but I highly recommend it as it REALLY works (especially ice cream).
STEP 6 – Get a Good Nights Sleep:
Go to bed and get a nice long rest. Once you wake up you will feel refreshed and realise that whatever the bad day was about, it wasn’t very meaningful and you’ll be able to make a full recovery!
